Well, it’s been another great year. I had a little bit of a rough start when
Aunt Laura had to leave Virginia to go back to Colorado in March. I missed
her so much that I flew all the way to Colorado in May to visit her. I had
so much fun spending time with her and Grandma and Grandpa! Lucky for me
that Mommy and Daddy found Melissa, who takes care of me while Mommy and
Daddy are at work. We have a great time together and get to go to Gymboree,
on playdates and we even have lunch with Mommy sometimes!
Victory! I started crawling
in May and walking in September! Mommy and Daddy were sooo excited at first
… but not so excited later when I figured out how to make my way into other
rooms, cabinets and all sorts of other fun places that I never even knew
about!
I celebrated my 1st
birthday in August - it was so much fun! I had my very own birthday cake and
made such a mess that I had to get a bath during the party (Mommy and Daddy
don’t know that this was my plan the whole time!). But the best part of all
was that all of my friends and family came to celebrate with me – even Aunt
Laura from Colorado and Aunt Daria and Yuri, who came all the way from
Canada!
I also started talking this
year! And it works so much better than grunting and pointing when I want
something! My first word was duck (“dut”). I know how to say about 20 words
already, but half of them all come out sounding like “ba” (ball, bye, bag,
bat, what a sheep says, etc.)!
One of my favorite things
is bathtime (also “ba”). I love it so much that I won’t get out until Mommy
drains the tub. And when she does, I lie face-down in the last inch of water
blowing bubbles until it’s all gone! My other favorite game is
Ring-Around-The-Rosie (“ra ra”). I especially love playing with Harley, who
even lies down at the end!
We had a big snowstorm in
December – it was great! I had to wear my new snowsuit which was so big and
puffy that I could barely move! I played in the snow (“no”) with Harley (“ha
ha”), went sledding, and even made a snowman! But now I’m really excited for
the holidays - I can’t wait to spend Christmas with my whole family! If you
see Santa, please tell him that I’ve been a very good girl this year!
